Choosing the Right Wedding Ring - the Rule of Metals.

Wedding rings and the rule of metals.

When it comes to wedding preparation you have a lot of plans to put in place, most allow you to get creative to ensure your wedding day is unmistakably yours while some are just plain practical. Still, the one that is probably (hopefully!) the most important for you both is finding your perfect wedding ring. Let’s be honest, there is no compromise for finding the ideal partner for your already fabulous engagement ring. As this is a ring you are planning to wear for the rest of your life you want to make sure you get it right. As a jewellery designer, I have seen the devastating damage choosing the wrong wedding ring can do to your precious engagement ring. So here is a little guide to help you when picking your engagement rings perfect partner.

Tip 1: Know your metals.

The most important thing you need to know is the metal and carat of your engagement ring. If you intend on wearing both your wedding and engagement rings together they need to be made of the same material. This is fundamental to the longevity of your rings as a denser metal will wear away one that is less dense . For example If your pair a 9ct gold engagement ring with a platinum wedding ring it wouldn’t be long before you’d start to notice wear in your engagement ring.

Tip 2: Shape is everything.

Picking a ring that will complement the style of your engagement ring is important, take into consideration the shape of your stones and how the two rings would sit side by side. Our shaped wedding rings offer a solution to larger stoned engagement rings.

Tip 3: Make sure you love it.

This piece of jewellery marks one of the most significant commitments in your life, so make sure you give your decision the thought it deserves. After all his ring will hold your wedding story forever, be passed to future family members and take your story to the next generations. I love to speak with couples offering advice and help when it comes to picking their perfect wedding ring.
