Making a statement of coupledom with a Pre-engagement ring

I was recently featured in an article in the Financial Times about pre-engagement rings and thought that sharing more information about these and the concept behind them might be helpful for soon-to-be finances. Many clients come to me with concerns over this big decision and the fear of getting it wrong when trying to create something unique and bespoke as a surprise and spending a great deal of money in the process. Such an investment takes much thought and confidence in decision-making, and if your partner for life is a little on the tricky side to buy for, this can feel daunting.

In 2017, I was first approached by one such client, and the idea came entirely from them. It had never been something I had made before. Still, I loved the idea of creating something simple to mark their coupledom without the perceived formalities of getting engaged and then continuing the journey to full engagement and the ring design with the couple together sharing in this wonderful experience.

Taking the pressure off with a Pre-engagement ring

The idea of the pre-engagement ring is that they are affordable, simple bands that are not too flashy and are a statement of unity. The ring would work in a future stack and add to the journey of the couple, removing the high-pressure stakes of getting it wrong! I have heard them called many things, pre-engagement rings, placeholder rings and intention-to-marry rings; whatever you call them, it is simply a beautiful way to share a magical moment with your loved one while taking away the pressures often felt when it comes to taking the next step.

If you're intrigued by the concept of pre-engagement rings and would like to explore the possibilities, I invite you to get in touch today. Let's discuss how we can create a unique and meaningful symbol of your commitment with a pre-engagement ring.
