Behind the scenes at my Scottish jewellery studio

A behind the scenes look at my hand crafted jewellery made in Scotland. Join me at my workbench to see what I have been up to with sneak peaks of what’s to come in the winter months.

From pieces of gold and gemstones to beautiful adornments made for you.

I have been back at my workbench, creating treasures for commissions and designing new ranges that will be coming out in the coming months. I love to share the journey with you as an artist and jewellery maker, I understand that once a piece leaves my hands and becomes part of someone else's life, it takes on a life of its own.

Working on new designs and having the time to play with gemstones and colour combinations is such a joy as a jeweller. Laying out the proposed settings and making those final decisions before my sketchbook bursts into life. My trusty sketchbook gives me a starting point, but you never know what will happen at the bench and what surprises you might discover along the way. This year, I have made a lot of pieces with my favourite colour combination of greens and blues, but diamonds are never far away.

A new collection that will be making an entrance soon are my Artefact Rings. These stacking rings have a hidden secret with a subtle shimmer of brilliant diamonds around their edge. Combining my signature pattern of individually hammered petals overlapping to create the Catkin effect each diamond is set into the edge of the ring’s centrepiece shape.

A commission I am currently working on is a bracelet with a scatter of tiny diamonds between the petals of my catkin pattern. This has been carefully shaped to fit the client's wrist perfectly. You can see this on a recent reel I made following my pieces on the workbench on Instagram.

Every year around now, I bring out a new collection of engagement rings, and this year, I am making these solitaire engagement rings with SMO gold and antique diamonds. I cannot wait to unveil these treasures from my Scottish Jewellery studio to you.
