Autumn styling- Earrings for autumn, combine your wardrobe with some jewellery design tricks.

A new season calls for the earrings to be upgraded, adding my jewellery design elements to my layered Autumn wardrobe.

There is a noticeable chill in the air, and I have been excited about this seasonal change for a few weeks. I am trying new styles, switching up my earrings as the necklaces nestle under layers, and the lightweight scarves make a subtle comeback to my everyday outfits.

I fear that the hopes of a late British summer have been packed away along with our camping kit!

For a knitwear lover like me, this season brings me joy as the cardigans come out, and the longer summer dresses still have a place. This petite season in Scotland is one I embrace with excitement and joy as I get to play around with my style before the cold weather requests a more practical daily adornment in my jewellery design studio.

Last weekend I went to my final festival of the Summer season, and on that chillier August day, the layers of festival fun and snuggly warmth were a knitwear and sequin spectacle. It made me realise that the glamour could continue into autumn. Accessorising with fabulous earrings and encouraged layering with different styles is perfect at this time of year when two seasons clash, so can your earrings!

There are many predicted trends for the autumn season with pleats and plumes, bold reds and risky sheers, the continued love for an LBC (little black coat) adornments with blooms and bright tights, but for me, the easy-to-get-behind trends focus on swathed scarves and quiet luxury, the opposite of flashy displays of wealth over the top big brand logos and instantly-recognisable designer prints, this is about the art of subtlety—an ethos I have always used in my jewellery design. Quiet luxury has been gaining pace on the sartorial and jewellery scene over recent months. It is a commitment to timeless style, vests and blazers, and one of my favourite wardrobe must-haves. The well-cut jeans, quiet luxury, will be one of the wisest trends to follow this season thanks to their timeless longevity. I’ll be mixing my denim staples with well-cut sustainable shirts and blouses, a jacket that adds a layer of warmth and elegance with scarves to elevate the look and keep the chill at bay. Long dresses still have a part to play but are accompanied by my faithful fleece gilet for the required warmth. I am teaming all of this with adornments of the jewellery kind, playing with earrings and movement from swathed chains to flow along with the scarves. My layering won't stop at clothes as I love to layer necklaces to work alongside the neckline of any shirt or blouse for when, inevitably, the layers diminish inside!
