The Memoried Collection- My new jewellery box treasures Launch at Edinburgh Jewellery boutique Aetla

A look back at last weeks launch event for my new jewellery box collection at Edinburgh Jewellery Boutique Aetla.

As a little girl, I always dreamed of becoming a jewellery designer. Here I am 20 years later, having just celebrated the launch of my anniversary collection in the beautiful Edinburgh jewellery boutique Aetla.

My final degree show was the launch of my own business. I never looked back. It was everything I had always wanted to do, design and sell my work. Simply put, it bought me joy, and I felt inspired from that moment to keep creating. And so, thoughts of master's degrees went out the window, and it all started from there at the age of 23! My mother's jewellery box inspired that show, the secret moments I snuck away to root through the treasures and pull them out to try on imagining the stories that came with them and then jumbling them all back in when I could hear someone coming knowing I shouldn't have really been there! To this day, I make jewellery for the love of those things. I love being a part of heirloom commissions and hearing your stories. I see the catharsis in this experience for my clients. I continue to find inspiration from flea markets and auction house treasures. The basis of my collections continues to be our connections with our jewellery. The Memoried collection (see the full look and full write-up by clicking the link) is inspired by the Emerald stone, which is the stone historically given as a gift to celebrate 20 years, taking further inspiration from nature and my upbringing on the estate of an old Victorian mansion, a magical place exploring the rhododendron bushes and building dens, creating my first gallery exhibitions displaying drawings on slates on the steps hidden amongst the undergrowth dreaming one day of having my work in an Edinburgh jewellery boutique.

I am sharing this event with clients old and new, family, friends and the people who have followed my journey from the outset to the ones supporting its growth going forward. It was a magical evening, so thank you all for reading this and enjoying and following my work.

A few thank you’s from the evening to Skua for the incredible canapés and cocktails, Solen for the event's photography, Rowan Joy, who made my skirt, Amy Wilson PR for helping me bring this together, and Aetla for hosting the event.

You can see the Memoried Collection at my Thornhill studio and a group of Catkin treasures at Aetla, the beautiful Edinburgh jewellery boutique in Stockbridge on St. Stephens Street.
