Inside our jewellery stockists- Introducing Diana Porter bespoke designer jewellery in Bristol

Diana Porter’s is an independent jewellery store and gallery located on Bristol’s historic Park Street, near the harbourside and city centre. Their store showcases the work of over 80 top jewellery designers alongside Diana’s full collections. They aim to show an eclectic mix of modern work - from a wide range of stunning engagement and wedding rings to experimental pieces by emerging new talents. With a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, you are welcome to browse the collections or pop in to see one of the four annual exhibitions they hold. Behind this beautiful gallery is the workshop where their incredible in-house jewellers make Diana’s work.

As a student, I had always admired Diana Porter's work, so when she approached me about exhibiting in her shop, it felt like talking to a real jewellery celebrity. After my initial exhibition, I was invited to become a stockist. Back then, I worked in silver and mixed media and was so excited to be able to stock her shop with these collections as a new designer on the block.

As a judge at The Contemporary Craft Festival in Bovey, Diana awarded me 'Best Jeweller' and then offered me a showcase exhibition at the gallery in 2009. After a break having my kids, the Diana Porter Gallery was one of the first places to stock my new gold collections. Diana was a wonderful nurturing support and always made me feel like she believed in me and my work through all its irritations.

'I've worked for Diana Porter for 21 years, and Alison's beautiful work has always been part of our gallery in that time. Di always loved Alison's work. It's been lovely to see her collections develop over the years, from silver and coloured clusters of stones to the luxurious gold of now. I personally wore a stack of Alison's silver rings for years, one of which had a raised round shape I used to call the magic button. Our shop customers often remarked on how lovely my rings were and couldn't resist pressing the button'- Merrill' Diana Porter.'

Diana sadly passed away after a short illness in 2021. It was her wish for Diana Porter Jewellery to go on….for her team to continue what she had started.

Her legacy as a designer and pioneering woman will never be forgotten.

I am so pleased to see the gallery and Diana's collections still flourishing in her sad absence, a testimony to all she built up over her career. I am proud to be part of the Diana Porter furniture.
